Prayer of a Soul Taken with Love	Oración del alma enamorada
Lord God, my Beloved, if You remember still my sins in such a way that You do not do what I beg of You, do Your will concerning them, my God, which is what I most desire, and exercise Your goodness and mercy, and You will be known through them.	26. ¡Señor Dios, amado mío! Si todavía te acuerdas de mis pecados para no hacer lo que te ando pidiendo, haz en ellos, Dios mío, tu voluntad, que es lo que yo más quiero, y ejercita tu bondad y misericordia y serás conocido en ellos.
And if it is that You are waiting for my good works so as to hear my prayer through their means,	Y si es que esperas a mis obras para por ese medio concederme mi ruego,
grant them to me, and work them for me, and the sufferings You desire to accept, and let it be done.	dámelas tú y óbramelas, y las penas que tú quisieras aceptar, y hágase.
But if You are not waiting for my works, what is it that makes You wait, my most clement Lord?	Y si a las obras mías no esperas, ¡qué esperas, clementísimo Señor mío?
Why do You delay? For if, after all, I am to receive the grace and mercy which I entreat of You in Your Son,	¿Por qué te tardas? Porque si, en fin, ha de ser gracia y misericordia la que en tu Hijo te pido,
take my mite, since You desire it, and grant me this blessing [good], since You also desire that.	toma mi cornadillo, pues le quieres, y dame este bien, pues que tú también lo quieres.
Who can free himself from the lowly manners and limitations	¿Quién se podrá librar de los modos y términos bajos
if You do not lift him to Yourself, my God, in purity of love?	si no le levantas tú a ti en pureza de amor, Dios mío?
How will a man begotten and nurtured in lowliness Rise up to You, Lord, if You do not raise him with Your hand  which made him?	¿Cómo se levantará a ti el hombre, engendrado y criado, Señor, con la mano que le en bajezas, si no le levantas tú, Señor, con la mano que le hiciste?
You will not take from me, my God, what You once gave me in Your only Son, Jesus Christ in Whom You gave me all I desire.	No me quitarás, Dios mío, lo que una vez me diste en tu único Hijo Jesucristo, en que me diste todo lo que quiero.
Hence I rejoice that if I wait for You, You will not delay.	Por eso me holgaré que no te tardarás si yo espero.
With what procrastinations do you wait, since from this very moment you can love God in your heart?	¿Con qué dilaciones esperas, pues desde luego puedes amar a Dios en tu corazón?
Mine are the heavens and mine is the earth. Mine are the nations [people], the just are mine, and mine the sinners. The angels are mine, and the Mother of God, and all things are mine; and God Himself is mine and for me, because Christ is mine and all for me.	27. Míos son los cielos y mía es la tierra; mías son las gentes, los justos son míos y míos los pecadores; los ángeles son míos, y la Madre de Dios y todas las cosas son mías; y el mismo Dios es mío y para mí, porque Cristo es mío y todo para mí.
What do you ask, then, and seek, my soul? Yours is all of this, and all is for you. Do not engage yourself in something less, nor pay heed to the crumbs which fall from your Father’s table.	Pues ¿qué pides y buscas, alma mía? Tuyo es todo esto, y todo es para ti. No te pongas en menos ni repares en meajas que se caen de la mesa de tu Padre.
Go forth and exult in your Glory! Hide yourself in it and rejoice, and you will obtain the supplications of your heart.	Sal fuera y gloríate en tu gloria, escóndete en ella y goza, y alcanzarás las peticiones de tu corazón.
